The full treatment takes 8 weeks at a stretch, twice a week, three hours every time. Treatment at the SJC has an integral character. All aspects of treatment include both biophysical and psychosocial elements. Both diagnostics and treatment are primarily focussed on the patient whereby knowledge from different disciplines will be efficiently integrated in an individual treatment profile that is focussed on the specific problems of the patient. Chronic complaints are distinguished by interaction between biophysical and psychosocial factors (multidimensional) and hence not easily to be accommodated by only one single (para-) medical discipline. This is why rehabilitation at the SJC is designedly an integral way of treatment by a multidisciplinary team. |
